Arranging a vacation is a time consuming and at times a frustrating endeavor. We have attempted to mitigate these inconviniences by providing you with a list of commonly asked questions along with their respective responses.

This should help you expedite your travel arrangements and make your vacation a more enjoyable experience.

Q. Where is La Paloma Resort located?
A. La Paloma IS in Rosarito Beach. After you cross the International border (aprox. 800 yards) watch for a freeway sign indicating a toll road to Rosarito/Ensenada. Take the toll highway for approximately 16 miles and watch for La Paloma exit off of the toll highway. Disregard Rosarito exit and proceed to La Paloma exit as previously indicated.
Q. Do we need car insurance?
A. Insurance is always advisable. Consult with your insurance agent or call 1.800.345.4701 for rates.
Q. Is it safe to drink the water?
A. Surprisingly the water in Tijuana and Rosarito comes from the Colorado River. The problem lies in the condition of the pipes carrying the water. Please bring your own drinking water for personal consumption. For personal hygiene tap water is perfectly fine.
Q. Do we need a passport or visa to visit Mexico?
A. No. However, upon reentry to the U.S., you will need to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or resident status in the U.S.
Q. Are U.S. dollars accepted?
A. Gladly. In case you are quoted prices in Pesos, please check the business section of your local newspaper for the most recent exchange rate.
Q. Can we rent a car in Mexico?
A. Yes! You can call Avis or Thrify Rental Car, which have rental programs in Mexico.
Q. Where can I park my car?
A. Each unit has its own assigned parking space.
Q. Do cell phones work?
A. Check with your wireless carrier. However, if you wish to call the U.S., you must dial the following prefix 001 + area code + phone number. Stay away from pay phones that advertise in downtown, as you will probably get billed $18/minute or a fraction thereof.
Q. What do I do if I am seriously injured?
A. Seek immediate help at the local Red Cross.
Q. What should I do if I become involved in a serious accident?
A. Be courteous to Mexican officials. If you feel the extent of damage or personal injury warrants legal representation please call us and we will gladly provide you with a contact for legal counsel.
